Hands-On STEM Programs
Discovery STEM Academy brings interactive science and technology programs directly to schools, libraries, recreation departments, camps, after-school programs, and community organizations.
Our programs combine real scientific equipment, demonstrations, experiments, games, and hands-on activities so students learn STEM by actually doing it.
Recommended Ages: 8–13
Programs can be adapted for younger or older groups depending on the setting.
Workshop Pricing
1-Hour STEM Workshop — $350
A complete hands-on STEM experience ideal for libraries, schools, recreation departments, community events, and special programs.
2-Hour Extended STEM Workshop — $375
More time for experiments, demonstrations, student participation, and deeper exploration of the subject.
3-Hour STEM Program — $400
Designed for camps, extended enrichment programs, special events, and organizations looking for a more immersive STEM experience.
10-Week STEM Academies
Our 10-week academies provide a deeper educational experience with progressive lessons, experiments, projects, hands-on activities, and a final challenge or graduation experience.
AI Explorers Academy — $350 per student
Junior Biologists / Microscopic Worlds Academy — $495 per student
Junior Chemists Academy — $520 per student
Junior Geologists Academy — $500 per student
Junior Space Explorers Academy — $495 per student
Host organizations provide the program space and help promote registration.
Experiences
Explore the Story of Earth
Students become young geologists and paleontologists as they investigate fossils, rocks, minerals, crystals, and the forces that have shaped our planet.
Students work with real geological specimens and participate in hands-on activities that turn Earth science into something they can actually see and touch.
Depending on the program length, students can examine real fossils, investigate rocks and minerals, excavate fossil specimens, crack open geodes, grow crystals, and explore geological processes.

Fossils and prehistoric life
Rocks and minerals
Volcanoes and earthquakes
Plate tectonics
Crystal formation
Meteor impacts
Extinction events
Earth’s changing surface
Our fossil collection includes specimens representing animals such as Mosasaurus, Megalodon, dinosaurs, trilobites, and other prehistoric organisms.
Students learn how paleontologists identify fossils, how geologists study rocks and minerals, and how evidence preserved in Earth helps scientists understand events that happened millions of years ago.
Junior Geologists Academy
Our 10-week Junior Geologists Academy takes students through a broader exploration of Earth science.
Students investigate prehistoric life, identify rocks and minerals, learn about volcanoes and earthquakes, study plate tectonics, explore crystals, investigate meteor impacts and extinction events, and complete hands-on geology challenges.
The program concludes with a final Geology Challenge and Junior Geologist graduation experience.

Artificial intelligence is much more than chatbots.
Students explore how computers recognize patterns, learn from examples, classify information, make predictions, and solve problems.
Instead of simply using AI, students begin learning how AI actually works.
Students:
Train simple machine-learning models
Explore image and sound recognition
Build classification systems
Investigate recommendation systems
Learn how neural networks work
Explore large language models and chatbots
Discover how AI is used in science, medicine, robotics, and everyday technology
Investigate why AI systems sometimes make mistakes
Interactive demonstrations can also include AI-powered games and projects using small computers such as Raspberry Pi systems.
No previous coding experience is required.
Junior AI Explorers Academy
The 10-week program introduces students to artificial intelligence and machine learning through a progressive series of hands-on activities.
Students explore pattern recognition, classification, recommendation systems, computer vision, language models, neural networks, training data, and real-world AI applications.
The academy concludes with an AI Challenge and Junior AI Explorer graduation experience.

Discover a World Too Small to See
Students explore the hidden world of microscopy and discover how scientists investigate structures invisible to the naked eye.
Students begin with basic magnification and observation before progressing to microscopes and more powerful scientific equipment.
They learn how microscopes work, how lenses magnify objects, how scientists prepare specimens, and why microscopy is important in biology, medicine, environmental science, and scientific research.
Students use microscopes to investigate prepared specimens and discover the extraordinary structures hidden inside seemingly ordinary objects.
A research microscope is also used to display detailed specimens for the entire group while student microscopes allow participants to conduct their own observations.
Junior Biologists Academy
The extended 10-week program allows students to explore microscopy, biology, scientific observation, specimen comparison, cells, microorganisms, biological structures, and laboratory techniques in greater depth.
Students conduct investigations, record observations, and learn how scientists use microscopy to study living systems.

Explore Space, Rockets, and the Universe
Students explore the science and engineering behind space exploration.
The program introduces rockets, spacecraft, astronomy, planetary science, and the technology humans use to explore beyond Earth.
Students learn:
How rockets generate thrust
Why reaching orbit requires enormous amounts of energy
How astronauts live and work in space
How spacecraft are designed
How telescopes study the universe
How gravity affects spaceflight
How scientists explore planets and distant objects
Visual materials include major spacecraft and missions such as Saturn V, the Space Shuttle, the Hubble Space Telescope, Mercury, Gemini, and other milestones in space exploration.
Activities include rocket investigations, constellation exploration, spacecraft systems, and flight or rocket simulations.
Junior Space Explorers Academy
The 10-week program allows students to explore rocket engineering, mission planning, planetary science, spacecraft design, astronomy, and simulated flight in greater depth.
